America’s National Monuments are more than just acres of land – they are chapters in the great American story. Each one is home to resources that are scientifically, culturally and historically important. We have a moral obligation to protect them for future generations.
Sadly, these national treasures are under attack.
President Trump recently removed protections for more than two million acres of public lands in the American West. This unprecedented assault amounts to the largest-ever elimination of protected areas in U.S. history, and he likely won’t stop there.
By stripping protections for the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments, the Trump administration has put Native American sacred sites, archaeological treasures, iconic landscapes and important wildlife habitat in the cross-hairs of fossil fuel interests seeking to turn our precious public lands into profit centers for drilling and mining.
This attack on our shared American heritage will kill jobs, close main street businesses, and threaten our access for hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. Join the fight to save our outdoors, and protect our national monuments today!
